The New Jersey Parkway has settled with a contractor in a dispute over which contractor should be awarded a job. The Raritan toll project came to a hault when officials decided the low bidder, Tarheel Enterprises of Morgan, did not produce properly executed surety bond to guarantee the work. Then the second-lowest bidder, Crisdel was notified that it would get the job. However, they also found flaws in Crisdel's surety bond. The job was finally awared to the third lowest bidder. Crisel sued for $2.76 million, stating they had bought equipment and made other costly arrangements. The state settled, paying the contractor $400,000.
