AIG's American Home Assurance Company Reaches Agreement with New Jersey Meadowlands and New Jersey Attorney General on EnCap Remediation

Statements from Meadowlands Commission and AIG

"We are pleased that American Home Assurance Company, a subsidiary of AIG, has made a binding commitment to honor the performance bond it issued," said New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram. "This will allow this long-delayed project to move ahead."

EnCap was declared in default on the project last May, setting off a Chapter 11 bankruptcy court reorganization effort that was unsuccessful. AIG officials had resisted paying, claiming that amendments to the developer’s agreement voided the bond.
