Default Surety Bonds

A contractor doing work on my home walked off the job, leaving me high and dry and now I'm attempting to go after his bond but the company says his bond is exhausted. They have however offered me 525.00 to settle and sign a release but in reality I'm owed nearly 20,000.00..

My recourse?, sue the bonding company..HELP !!!

thanks

If the bond is exhausted, there is little you can do to be financially reimbursed from the bonding company. in fact, I am surprised they offered you the $525. What bonding company was it?

I would not sign any releases or settle on anything until you have had a chance to speak to your attorney about it.
