Default Software

I am a superintendent who has recently been taken on the task of updating all of our schools computers security systems. I have been approached by some software developers that appear to have exactly what I am looking for but I still want to require a performance bond. They are telling me that they are having a difficult time obtaining a surety bond and would like to do the job regardless. I had a school addition built two years ago and a getting a performance bond then wasn't a problem, why is it now?

It has to do with the software part of the job. Few of our Surety companies will write performance bonds when software development is involved. That's not to say that there aren't companies out there who will - we just have a difficult time with them.
