Default Effect of Legal Separation on Spousal Indemnity

What is the effect on spousal indemnity in the event of a legal separation? If my wife and I separate, but not divorce (can't divorce for religious reasons), and she gets the house, would she still be required to sign the indemnity agreement for a new bond? What if there are existing bonds?

That may be a question you would need to ask an attorney.

Bond Magician is right - check with your attorney. I do suspect, though, that if you have court documents showing a legal separation, that the bond can probably be written without your spouse's involvement. Check with your attorney - then call your bond representative to discuss this in further detail.

Default Legal Separation

I have found that some sureties still require spousal indemnity even in a case of legal separation.
