Default very small sign installation - requiring bonded

Hi,
I am self employed, 30 years in the sign business, credit 750 and no client complaints.
I have a new client that has a sign install job that they are requiring the installer, me, to be bonded. The signs are 12" by 20" (approx.) with a plug cord, like a table lamp. These signs will sit on the counter in a variety of small buisiness stores. I am to deliver and plug in the sign.

What type of bond do I need for this?
This program is in Delaware and I live in Connecticut. Is bonding specific to the job and or the state?
If a court document is expunged does it exist? Does it count?
How does one answer the question, have I ever been convicted...?
Yes, but it was expunged. Not a felony, and was 25 years ago.
Was told the answer will be no, like it never happened.
Please advise. Thanks.
PS. Yes, I already have a 2 million liability ins policy.

Unless the municipality in which your client is located requires you to have a license bond, I don't think there is a bond for this. Generally the purpose of a contract bond is to protect public money. If you were installing signs for your city, then a bond would probably be required.

If you want to call to discuss your individual situation, feel free to do so. 215-766-1990 ext. 100

Default sign install bond

This is not for a municipality.
It is a private business that is requiring a bond - is it possible they are looking for performance bond or some other type of Bond - I have never been asked for this before - this is highly unusual - but the value of the work - I will get bonded if I have to.
Thanks,
Chris

We have no performance bond program for a bond required by a private business. I'm not even sure there is such a program. As I mentioned previously, the purpose of a performance bond is to protect public money - not private money.

Sorry.
