What type of bond?

Hello,
A homeowner is requiring a contract bond of me, but they didn't specify exactly what type of contract bond that they need. Do they have the ability/authority to require a bond of me?

Anyone can ask for a bond. Whether you will be able to obtain it or not is another story. You will need to find out the following information...

1) What is the amount they are requiring?
2) Specifically, what do they want the bond to guarantee?
3) Do you have a written contract for the work?

If you obtain the answers to the questions above you will be in better shape when you go to apply for your bond. Unfortunately, our agency does not bond private work, so we will not be able to assist you any further.
