Yes, your social security number is necessary in order to underwrite the bond. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining approval and rates, including personal credit of the owners. We must have a social security number in order to obtain credit reports.

Plus, before a bond can be issued, an indemnity agreement must be signed both on behalf of the company, and individually by the owners and their spouses. Because of this, the Surety company must have the owners' & spouses' personal information on file, including social security numbers.
