Default Letter for Bad Credit

I was approved online, but through the high risk program. Would it help if I sent a letter explaining my situation? Would that help to lower my premium at all?

In a perfect world that would be a good idea. Unfortunately, personal credit is what it is and if it's not good - regardless of the reason - you'll be high risk.
