Default Updated Credit

when my mortgage broker bond is coming due for renewal, is my credit automatically checked to see if I get a lower rate? Or do I have to request it?

Unfortunately, we do not have the time or resources to check credit for every account prior to sending out the renewals. If you believe you have had a significant increase in your credit come renewal time call your agent and request a credit check. It never hurts and may result in a lower premium.
