    Continuation Certificate

    Why do some bonds have continuation certificates and some don't?

    It really depends on the actual bond language that is written on the bond form. Some states require that at each term, a continuation certificate be issued to show that the bond is still in effect and in place. Some states, however; do not require a continuation certificate.
