i am considering a business venture which involves caretaking i.e. watching residences for vacationers and other away homeowners. my question: what type of bond would best suit this venture? i live in santa cruz, ca.
Michael, if the state is not requiring any specific bond for your licensing then a fidelity bond (employee dishonesty policy) is what you are looking for.
The bond would cover stolen goods, which should give your customers piece of mind. Our agency no longer writes fidelity bonds as they are more of an insurance policy than a bond. You should have no problem someone to write one, try doing a search online for "fidelity bond".
If the government is requiring the bond of you then you can apply at the following link: Miscellaneous Surety Bond Application.
Let me know if you have any other questions.![]()
Michael, what you are looking for is specifically called a "Business Service Fidelity Bond". It covers subscribers to your service in the event of employee theft. Do a search on that phrase.
