    What is an "Obligee"

I am wondering what an "Obligee" is?

The obligee is who requires the bond. For instance, the mvd is the obligee for auto dealers, as they require the dealers to obtain a bond for their license. When it comes to contract bonds, the obligee would be whoever the contractor is doing the work for.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
