I am a licensed Armed Security Guard. I work for a Private Investigative firm and I'm covered under their bond. I have been offered jobs privately but the potential employers always require that I be bonded. Is there a type of bond I could get that I could purchase on a short term basis usually 1 or 2 weeks?
Thanks.
Generally if you are asked by a private employer "to be bonded" - they usually end meaning that they want you to have insurance which could be a general liability coverage and not a surety bond. I would clarify exactly what they are requiring of you and go from there. IF a surety bond is what you require - the turn around time to obtain a bond is generally 5 business days.
Could the employer possibly be requiring a fidelity bond of me? Would a fidelity bond apply for this type of business?Originally Posted by lifeisgood

A Fidelity Bond is also a possibility. It is also known as An Employee Theft Bond - but that generally covers your employees - not yourself
Would insurance be a better option in this situation?Originally Posted by lifeisgood
