| I have a question regarding bonding for tax preparers. I am an independent tax preparer. Many potential clients are asking whether I am bonded or not. Until now, I have not considered it, but with the number of tax scams out there, people are getting leary. Any assistance would be appreciated. My state has no definitive requirement for a bond. |

Probably your best option is a fidelity bond that protects your clients from theft by your employees. You may want to call the office and speak with the bond specialist who handles these bonds to see if it's a good option for you. |
