Because it's impossible to keep up with requirements of fifty states and multitudes of different bond forms, it seems reasonable that the applicant should provide the information provided by the state when they asked for the bond (generally speaking, it's part of the license application package provided). Additionally, sometimes the bond amount will vary depend upon anticipated revenues. The bond agent's job is to arrange for the bond you need, and executing a bond in an incorrect amount will create numerous problems. Since the applicant will have had the most current contact with the licensing office, the applicant will have the most current information. We all strive for efficiency and appreciate obtaining complete information with every bond request.
