What kind of surety bond do I need with a notary application?
I would do a search online for "notary bond" or "notary surety bond". We do not provide this class of business, but it should not be hard to find elsewhere.
The kind of bond that you need is an official 15,000 $ bond. There is an optional e&o bond. but it is strongly recommended.Originally Posted by Unregistered

Figures you're unregistered to give that kind of advice! The bond amount varies by state, could be no bond at all. And ALL bonds are "official" bonds, otherwise they'd be "unofficial" meaning good for nothing. (just like your advice) Just do a google search for "notary bond" and the state you need it in. ( PA notary bond). And the E&O is not a bond, it's insurance. GEESHOriginally Posted by Unregistered

Mr Bond is right. There is no set amount for notary bonds for every state. Each state decides their individual requirement. He is also correct in saying that E&O is insurance, not a type of bond.
I believe CNA Surety will write notary bonds directly. Try them if the google search that Mr bond recommended doesn't work out for you.
