Exclamation Will The Mike Vick Case Further Hurt Dogs?

Will The Mike Vick Case Further Hurt Dogs? - I don't know about the effect the case will have, but the misrepresention of many breeds has and will continue to hurt them greatly.
I read the article and got the impression that this company is looking for a non alarmist postition to the recent attention this case has brought to the insurance industry and dog owners alike.
However The photo you chose to use to illustrate the article does exactly the opposite and I am thoroughly offended.
I am the owner of Two Dobermans. I have owned many Dobermans over 30 years time and never has any of my dogs acted as shown in the photo, unless completely provoked by someone and even then it is for a mere instant. I am disgusted by and tired of the bad press this breed gets because of general pubic, mass ignorance. The only time I have ever been bitten by a dog, was by a Poodle. Frankly, the smaller breeds are the more agressive and the nippers that are more likely to bite and bite more often.
Dobermans are a magnificant breed. Talk to a few Doberman owners - Go see a few, they are the most lovable, affectionate and playful dogs. If you want to illustrate your article and make your point more to the postition of the article try using a less agressive photo, instead of helping to cause the unnecessary fear and panic and facilitaing the bad press that these wonderful dogs already get - and mostly beacuse of being misrepresented just as you have done. I would venture a guess that this photographer had to work to get this photo just right and moments later was being licked and played with by the same dog.
Please change the photo.
Regards Chris Parrette.

Chris, sorry to hear that you were unhappy about our choice for the picture in our article. You may have read into the picture a bit too much, as we chose the picture because of the ferociousness of that particular dog at that moment, not due to the breed.

I would think that we would likely make someone unhappy regardless of the breed chosen in the picture. However, I am open to the idea of a different picture if you can come up with a good suggestion.
