We are being contracted by a couple of ambulance squads in Pennsylvania to do their billing... how do I find out whether or not we're required to get a bond to render these services?

First off, does the State require you to be specifically licensed to do this type of work? If so, a license type bond may be required. The ambulance squad may want to require a performance bond of you - if they are a non-profit or municipality run squad. At a minimum though, you may want to consider some kind of fidelity bond.
