I just wanted to find out where I could obtain a list of the financial institutions that have authority to file a BMC-85?
Thanks in advance!
We have no such list.
However, we recently came across a surety that is willing to write the ICC Bond for new companies and or ownership with some credit issues. You can apply at:ICC Bond Application

Though there is no such published list that I am aware of, a web search of freight broker bonds & trusts should help.
Please be sure to check with whomever you speak with, what their DOT Authority # is. Any filer of the BMC-84 bond or the BMC-85 trust form will have this #. You can verify # and company by calling (202) 358-7000.
There are many companies that will represent themselves as being able to file the correct forms, but only few are actually authorized to do so. These other companies are what I consider to be "info brokers". It is true that they can actuallt provide a # of transportation services and filings, but they may not authorized to file the actual BMC-84 or BMC-85.

1st Security Financial also files the BMC-85 Brokers Trust.
I personally did not go through them but was told that 1st Security was very good company to use, as a matter of fact i do belive the contact was Don J. please correct me if I am wrong.
Pacific Financial uses broker companies to make money only. They do not care about the customers or their needs, just try to get your trust money back from them. They will give you all kinds of excuses and no payment will be mailed back to you. Remember this is your money if no claims come through all should be returned. They lie about claims so they don't have to pay any money back. I do not recommend this company.Originally Posted by TruckBroker

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only company having problems with Pacific Financial. They are rude and unacomadating.Originally Posted by Larr Pyle

It is a shame to hear might be companies taking advantage of the BMC-85. Not to say all do, but I suppose that is another advantage of filing a BMC-84 ICC Bond.
