    Clueless...please help

Hi, I am trying to find information out regarding surety bonds and becoming a freight broker. I have seen many advertisements for freight broker training. It is overwhelming. I know it's a lot of paperwork involved but is there someone out there who knows what paperwork I fill out first, second, etc.?

I need some guidance and don't have 3,000 to pay someone to tell me how to start. I think I fill out an OP-1 form first but if someone can lay down what forms I should fill out first and links to their locations, I greatly appreciate it.

cfrone2003, the surety bond is not the best option for you until you can produce business financial statments for your company. ICC bonds are considered a high risk bond and would require 100% collateral for new companies.

A better idea for your first year is to make use of a BMC-85 trust fund account. Other brokers have seemed pleased with one of our forum member's services. Do a search for "Don Jipping", but keep in mind he is in now way affialiated with us other than being a registered user like yourself.

You can apply for the icc bond next year, when you can produce business financial statements.

    Good luck!
