    Freight Fowarding

Is there a difference between a freight broker company and a freight forwarding company?

  2. A freight forwarder takes legal possesion of the freight. The FF generally takes in a truckload of widgets and seperates them into many smaller shipments of widgets.
A freight broker never sees the freight. The broker just arranges the movement of freight from pointA to point B

    Freight Forwarding

Would a freight forwarding company be required to file the BMC-84? Or is that just for freight brokers?

  4. Freight Forwarders need to carry cargo insurance. The BMC-84(bond) & the BMC-85(trust fund) are for brokers only.
