Default New in this line... Need some HELP

Hi everyone!
I am looking to open a Freight Brokerage company and as I am looking around for a month for training and books and for what it is all involved, I want to know how could I figure out what training course is the best and what is just a bogus course, and if somebody could refer me to a good course, I would prefer a online course.
And also as I search for this kind of business I gat to the point that in order to open that business I need to have a '' BMC 84'', '' ICC'', or '' SURETY BONDS'', I want to understand the differences between all of this types, and if there is more kinds, and if I need this at all, and how much does it cost, and what kind of documents and other kind of thinks I need for this bonds.
I will really appreciate for your reply, it will be a great help for me,
Thanks for giving for me from your time,
Soln

Soln -

I can't advise you on courses for becoming a freight broker, but I can give you information regarding the ICC Bond.

An ICC bond is required by the Interstate Commerce Commission in order to legally operate as a transportation broker. Other names for this bond are BMC-84, Frieght Broker Surety Bond, and a Property Brokers Surety Bond. The ICC also allows brokers to submit the BMC-85 trust fund in lieu of a bond. However, our agency only recommends brokers make use of the BMC-85 trust fund if they do not qualify for the bond.

A large amount of bond claims over the years has caused bonding companies to consider ICC Bonds extremely risky. Most sureties require 100% collateral in order to consider this bond. Fortunately, JW Bond has several specialty programs that can place the bond with no collateral.

JW Bond offers the BMC-84 ICC Bond with no collateral to applicants who qualify. Most bonding companies require ICC bonds to be fully collateralized, but our bulk volume allows us to place these high risk bonds under unique terms.

If you don't qualify for the bond, we can refer you to someone who handles the BMC-85 (Trust Fund).

Feel free to complete an application on our website and we'll be happy to provide you with a quote.

Default Info on ICC Bonds

Are there law articles or journals with articles that discuss ICC Bonds?

I'm sure there are - I just can't refer you to any. You might try FMCSA's website. If you have specific questions about the BMC-84 Freight Broker Bond, please feel free to call our office and speak to the bond agent who handles these bonds. She will be happy to talk to you about your options.
