I was wondering if a criminal conviction would keep someone from obtaining an employee dishonesty bond? Are criminal background checks performed?

Criminal background checks are not usually done when underwriting for a fidelity bond. They are a type of insurance, so the premium is based on the number of employees that there are, as well as the bond amount the applicant is obtaining.
