Default Power of Attorney

My brother has brain damage that is slowly progressing. We are working on establishing a plan for when the time comes that he is unable to make decisions on his own behalf. He wants to appoint me Power of Attorney over his healthcare decisions. When the time comes, will I need to get a guardianship bond?

Probably - but this is a question best asked of your attorney.

If the bond is needed, will it need to be in my name or my brother's?

If the court does require a bond for your brother's estate, the bond would be in your name on his behalf.
