    Do you do background checks when underwriting?

    Yes. Our underwriters will make use of credit reports and may require some additional information in order to confirm some of the answers on your application.

    Don't be scared - underwriters don't actually do "background" checks - just "credit" checks - which will require that your credit will be run. Generally this is done by a soft credit report for insurance purposes. The soft report will not affect your score in any way and will not even show that it's been pulled.
