Is it easier to get a contractor licesing bond if I'm a sole-propretor or an LLC ? Or doesn't it matter?

Default Easier to get

It really shouldn't matter whether you are a sole proprietor or an LLC in terms of obtaning a contractors license. The same approval process/rules will apply.

What if I am a sole proprietorship, but I want to switch to an LLC. Do I have to notify you?

Default Sole Proprietorship to LLC

You must notify the surety for any changes to your business whether it be a name/adress change, ownership changes and especially if your are changing the business from a sole proprietorship to an LLC, Inc, Corporation, etc

If the company name is changing, will you amend the bond changing the name?

Default Amend Company Name on Bond

If you are simply doing a name change that shouldn't be a problem. Check with your surtety as they tend to charge a nominal fee for any riders that need to be processed reflecting changes to existing bonds.

Will I have to sign a new indemnity agreement?
