Default Bid Bond Signing

Is is ok if a bid bond is signed by the surity but not by the company using it? Had a job bid and the low man did not sign his bond and the agency with the job said it was ok as long as the surity co signed it. Is this correct if so why would you ever sign one.

All parties should be signing the bond, as it is a three party agreement. However, it is up to the obligee (who is requiring the bond) whether or not the bond will be rejected. I would guess they are still going to require the principal to sign the bond at a later date.
