Default Bid for Software Business

I am wondering if you do bid bonds for a software contract. I have been invited to bid on a software maintenance contract worth about $750,000. I would like to bid the work. I have a great track record with all my clients.

Unfortunately, none of the surety companies that we work with are interested in approving this type of bond/business. I would suggest contacting a local insurance agency within your state or do an internet seach for contract/software bonds. You should find some help that way.

This may not be totally accurate. If you have actually developed the software, then Bond Magician is correct. However, if you provide maintenance contracts for software that is "off the shelf" and you installed it, we may be able to help. If this is the case, it would be suggested that you have a dialogue with our head underwriter to determine if we can help you in your specific situation.
