    Bid Amount Changed

You recently issued a bid bond for my company. The bid amount was originally $61,000 - Now it has been changed to $36,000. Since the original bond amount is typed on the bid bond, won't it be rejected by the obligee?

I'm assuming that the amount on the bid bond is preceded with "not to exceed" - if this is the case, then going lower than the original $61,000 is not a problem and your bid should not be rejected. Going over the $61K amount would be a problem but under shouldn't be. Did the bid say "not to exceed"?
