Default Little Credit History

I've spent most of my life paying cash for everything - from buying cars to buying my house. Because of this I don't have much as far as credit history goes. Could my strong personal financials make up for this? Would it help if I provided references or bank statements?

Yes - your personal financials could make up for a lack of credit. It really depends upon what type of bond you are needing. Surety will undoubtedly want proof of home ownership and verification of cash.
