Not exactly clear what you are asking here. Was the contract signed over 12 months ago or does it cover over 12 months? Has the work begun? If the contract was signed over 12 months ago and work has not begun, it's possible to get the bond. Surety would want to know the circumstances under which it took so long for the contract to take effect. If the work has already begun, it will be more difficult. If the contract is for a project that will be over 12 months, we may have other Surety companies who are interested. Best to have a dialogue with a bond representative to see how your particular situation plays out.
